Meet Lizzy Simon, OTD, OTR/L
Occupational Therapist
Elizabeth "Lizzy" Simon is an occupational therapist working in Houston, TX. She received her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy in 2021 from Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT.
Since providing therapy, Lizzy has developed skills with medically complex children, neurodivergent populations, and sensory integration/modulation.
She obtained her 201 DIRFloortime certification from ICDL in 2023. Regulation, relationships, mental health, health promotion, self-advocacy, biomechanics, and sensory environments are a main part of her professional models of practice. She strives to use evidence-based practices and use a strengths-based model to develop goals.

In 2024, Lizzy obtained her certification in the Safe and Sound Protocol, which is a modality that can be used to support nervous system regulation that is founded in the Polyvagal Theory. Please see this website for more information.

In the next year or so, Lizzy would like to receive a certification in sensory integration through STAR Institute.

What do occupational therapists do?
Occupations can be defined as meaningful activities that occupy your time. Occupational therapists use occupations as the method of developing goals to support independence. For example, a child's main occupation is play, so an OT might use play as the method to support development and independence. If an adult is seeking services for sensory regulation, an OT might support this individual with knowing/validating how and where to stim and with structuring their routine to prevent sensory meltdowns.

Do you take insurance?
Services with Sensationally Thriving Therapy do not contract with insurance. Please consult with your insurance to determine level of coverage for out of network services.
If you wish to submit invoices for insurance reimbursement, a Superbill will be provided to you once a month or at your request.
You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate in reference to the No Surprises Act. Please contact your therapist for further detail.
How often can you see clients?
Service frequency is determined by client need and caregiver request. Session times will typically last 60 minutes; however sessions may last 30-60 minutes depending on the clients tolerance and needs.
Evaluations will take 1-3 hours
